OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the organization’s growth. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in various accounting software.

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and budgeting processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as business administration, accounting or commerce.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, auditing and/or financial planning
  • A CPA designation is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Oversee budgeting processes and monitor financial performance against budgets.
  • Analyze program budgets and ensure service delivery aligns with the applicable standards.
  • Assist in the creation of Service Level Reports.
  • Conduct account reconciliations and perform account analysis to identify discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support decision-making processes.
  • Ensure timely reporting of financial information to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, systems, and procedures.
  • Liaise with external auditors for year-end audits and financial reporting.
  • Assist senior management with the recruitment, training, and management of new and existing accounting and finance staff.
