Position Summary
We are seeking a highly capable, detail-driven Controller who is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organization, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data. This role manages the month-end close process and serves as a hands-on leader to the accounting team, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
The Controller partners closely with senior leadership to provide meaningful financial insights that support strategic decision-making and business growth.
Key Objectives
Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management through evaluation, analysis, and reporting of key data to support strategic decision-making
Maintain accurate oversight of financial health, including financial statements, budgets, and regulatory compliance
Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures within the current economic landscape
Develop and maintain financial controls and guidelines to safeguard company assets
Achieve G&A budgeting goals through effective planning, analysis, and corrective actions
Collaborate with leadership to support short- and long-term strategies through accurate forecasting and financial analysis
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, collections, invoicing, and general ledger management
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including financial statement preparation and reporting
Monitor and maintain internal control policies and procedures related to revenue, costs, budgets, and expenditures
Collaborate with management to establish and monitor financial and operational benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards (biweekly, monthly, and annual)
Ensure consistent implementation of accounting policies, practices, and procedures in compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax laws
Coordinate with management, tax advisors, and legal counsel throughout the fiscal year
Analyze financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and executive-level reporting
Provide leadership and oversight to the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, trust, and productivity
Manage ERP/accounting systems, including system optimization, upgrades, and process improvements
Review reconciliations, journal entries, and financial schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance
Improve payroll efficiency through streamlined processes and innovative solutions
Actively participate in leadership meetings and strategic discussions
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Seven or more years of professional accounting experience, including at least three years in a senior accounting or financial management role
Strong knowledge of GAAP, including financial reporting standards, internal controls, and accounting principles
Clear understanding of State and Federal Tax Laws
Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct preferred)
Solid understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
Working knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and compliance requirements
Experience managing payroll with a focus on process efficiency and improvement
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas
Proven experience in financial project management and budgeting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to executive leadership
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Demonstrated leadership ability, including experience managing, mentoring, and developing staff
Wage: $45.67 to $50.07
Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hours vary and are dependent on business needs.
