Our client, a leading residential property management group affiliated with one of the largest development companies in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), is seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to join their North York team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a well-established organization that values professionalism, innovation, and excellence in property management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA designation is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Masters degree is an asset.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive financial management experience, preferably within the property management or real estate sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and regulations.
  • Proficient in financial software and systems; experience with property management systems is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management to support business decisions and long-term planning.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to align financial strategies with business objectives.
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, and other stakeholders as required.
