REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified CPA with 5+ years’ experience, tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce or similar
  • Experience in a multinational environment, preferably but not essential, in engineering, consulting, or professional services.
  • Strong leadership, team development, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Track record of delivering within a complex environment in international businesses.
  • Ability to drive financial performance, operational efficiency, and process improvements.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

As Financial Controller, you will be a key member of Finance team, overseeing financial accounting operations in Australia. You will ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. Leading a finance team of 4 people, you will support commercial decision-making and enhance financial processes in a multinational environment. Your role will be a broad one requiring you to be ‘hands on’ and in the detail, but also a strong leader in the finance team.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, this role is for a technically strong, results-orientated individual with a continuous improvement mindset, capable of partnering with the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee financial operations across ~4 entities, including financial accounting, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, taxes, cashflow and banking.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and financial regulations.
  • Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance.
  • Manage monthly management accounts submissions including P&L, cash flow and working capital performance.
  • Forecasting cashflow performance and driving working capital improvements.
  • Identifying risks and opportunities to performance.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in collaboration with the Senior Finance Business Partner.
  • Oversee the external and internal audit processes and liaise with auditors to achieve “no surprises” audits.
  • Oversee documentation and maintenance of business processes, accounting policies and procedures, to preserve the operation of a strong internal controls environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and streamline end-to-end financial procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Group Finance.
  • Assess commercial opportunities as required and review and support in the preparation of requests to incur capital expenditure and develop intellectual property.
  • Reporting into Group Finance Systems (Tagetik).
  • Leading and supporting business integration processes.
