Description:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to join a award winning Media company based in Central London. The role is part of a growing team/business, working closely with the Head of Finance and Senior Leadership. REQUIREMENTS:

  • Accounting qualification eg. ACA or ACCA
  • Strong knowledge and experience of IFRS, UK GAAP and tax law
  • Advertising Agency experience
  • Experience of working in a fast paced corporate environment
  • Able to prioritise and plan work to manage competing demands
  • Inclusive working attitude, always adopting integrity and honesty

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership and preparation of the annual report and half year interim accounts, which are prepared under IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts for group subsidiaries
  • Monthly consolidation of results in stat account format
  • Technical accounting expert for the group, including keeping up to date on IFRS reporting requirements and standards, and accounting for acquisitions and disposals
  • Responsible for VAT and corporation tax computations and returns
  • Production of the management accounts for plc/central costs, including reallocation of costs to the operating divisions
  • Working alongside the Head of Finance to produce the monthly finance pack for the Board, including preparation of the group balance sheet, cashflow statement, creditors, debtors and capex reports
  • Responsible for monthly consolidation adjustments
  • Maintaining IFRS 16 schedules and adjustments
  • Assisting with month end procedures for another of the group subsidiaries
  • Responsible for documenting and improving financial controls
  • Key relationship holder with external advisors including auditors, tax firms, etc.
  • Ad hoc project assistance working alongside the CFO and rest of the finance team
