JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee our accounting operations and ensure the integrity of our financial data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, experience with ERP systems, and familiarity with EDI transactions. The Controller will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting activities, supporting financial reporting, and contributing to the overall success of the finance department.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting/Finance
• CPA designation or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years in an accounting oversight position
• Food Manufacturing experience is an asset
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with an ability to prioritize important tasks
• Deadline-oriented with a strong attention to detail
• Proficient with ERP systems
• Experience and understanding of EDI Processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong analytical and statistical data management skills
• Highly motivated personality
• Ability to work well with a close and supportive management team
• Must love all things Ice Cream

Experience:

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
• Provide insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making
• Responsible for Accounts Payable
• Prepare Bank Reconciliations
• Prepare Government Reporting and Remittances
• Liaise with all departments and prepare and maintain annual budgets
• Maintain compliance with all government regulations as they relate to accounting
• Ensure tight internal controls over accounting department and ERP System
• Manage Electronic Data Interchange Transactions (EDI)
