We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Controller to join our dynamic Finance team at Sunlight’s Athens premises. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting and financial control, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to improving financial processes. Key activities and responsibilities of this role include: Coordinate and lead the preparation of the annual budget, financial forecasts, and variance analysis. Ensure full implementation of Group accounting policies and internal controls. Prepare monthly financial reports in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations. Oversee regulatory reporting and support with other ad-hoc financial reports as needed. Maintain and document business processes, accounting policies, and strengthen internal controls. Track expenses versus budget and year-over-year comparisons, analyzing fluctuations and reporting on them. Provide daily financial support to various departments to ensure smooth operations. Liaise with department heads to ensure that departmental budgets are aligned with overall company financial goals and forecasts. Coordinate monthly financial review meetings with department heads to discuss performance, variances, and corrective actions. Identify opportunities for automating routine financial reporting tasks to improve accuracy and efficiency, and assist in the implementation of new financial tools or software. Support the preparation of forecast models and what-if scenarios to guide decision-making and manage business risks. Assist in the development of financial dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) for senior management to gain insights into the company’s financial health. 3-5 years of relevant experience as a Financial Controller, External Auditor, or in a similar financial role. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MSc or professional qualifications such as ACCA, IFRS Diploma are a plus). Strong knowledge of Greek Accounting Standards and IFRS. Experience with SAP is a plus. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to handle large data sets and generate detailed reports. Strong written and verbal English language skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail and meeting tight deadlines. Team-oriented mindset, with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to challenge existing processes and contribute to control improvements. Adaptability and flexibility, with comfort working in a fast-paced, international environment. Willingness to travel as needed.
