Are you a hands-on finance leader with a passion for scaling companies and making an impact beyond the numbers? We’re looking for a Financial Controller to join the challenger bank, and play a pivotal role in shaping our financial operations and strategy as we continue our growth journey.
As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for leading and developing the finance function across the UK and Spain. You’ll own everything from group reporting and regulatory compliance to taxation and financial statement preparation, while working as part of the team and working closely with senior leadership.
We’re looking for someone with a strong grounding in technical accounting, an eye for detail, and the drive to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. .

KEY SKILLS

• Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
• Proven experience in group accounting and reporting, ideally in a scaling business
• Strong expertise in UK taxation (corporation tax and VAT)
• Experience in regulatory reporting and preparing financial statements
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to explain financial insights to non-finance stakeholders
• Confident in leading and scaling finance teams
• Fluent or proficient in Spanish (spoken and written)
• Comfortable in a fintech, challenger bank, start-up or scale-up environment – agile, adaptable, and hands-on
• Fast-paced, supportive culture with a focus on learning, growth, and doing great work
• Not from a large corporate or traditional banking background – we value initiative, curiosity, and a growth mindset

• Lead group accounting and consolidated financial reporting across all entities
• Manage UK tax compliance (Corporation Tax and VAT)
• Prepare and review management accounts, investigating and explaining variances
• Oversee the preparation of statutory Financial Statements
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and financial reporting requirements
• Act as a key finance partner to the business – helping to shape strategic decisions
• Communicate and report effectively with Spanish-speaking stakeholders
