Assistant Controller (North America) Location: Charlottetown, PEI (Canada) Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Reports To: Controller Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 annually, comprehensive benefits package, and paid time off About Us We provide full-service contract manufacturing, bottling, and packaging solutions for white-label gummy natural health products, supporting clients from concept through launch. The Opportunity The Assistant Controller plays a key role in supporting accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across our Canadian and U.S. manufacturing operations. This position partners closely with the Controller and cross-functional teams to support financial close processes, strengthen internal controls, and ensure alignment across cross-border operations. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is looking to contribute to both operational execution and continuous improvement initiatives. What Success Looks Like * Accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes * Strong internal controls and audit readiness across Canadian and U.S. operations * Effective collaboration with Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality teams * Clear and compliant financial reporting aligned with applicable accounting standards * Continuous improvement of financial processes and systems * Reliable support for budgeting, forecasting, and cross-functional initiatives Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Close * Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes * Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations * Assist with consolidation and intercompany accounting * Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards Manufacturing & Cost Accounting * Support manufacturing finance activities and cost accounting processes * Partner with Finance Analyst and operations teams to ensure accuracy of costing data Internal Controls & Compliance * Maintain and strengthen internal controls across the organization * Support audits and regulatory reviews * Assist with sales tax compliance and cross-border financial requirements * Manage corporate credit card program and expense reporting system * Maintain and update Finance Department policies (e.g., Fixed Assets, Corporate Expense, Purchasing) Systems & Process Improvement * Support ERP and financial system integrity * Identify and implement process improvements * Assist with system implementations and enhancements Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration * Support accounting team members as needed * Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and HR teams * Support budgeting and forecasting activities Qualifications Experience & Education * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance * CPA designation or equivalent experience preferred * 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment * Experience with cross-border (Canada/U.S.) operations considered an asset Technical Skills * Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting * Experience with ERP systems * Advanced Excel skills Competencies * Strong attention to detail and accuracy * Hands-on, proactive approach * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment * Strong communication and collaboration skills * High level of integrity and ownership Our Commitment to Inclusive Hiring We are committed to building an inclusive and accessible workplace.
