Description

A great UHY client is seeking a Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a valid CPA, Peachtree/Sage experience, and assisted living or other healthcare related experience.
The Controller role is an onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.

CONTROLLER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in a Controller or senior financial role, preferably in the healthcare, assisted living, or a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management practices.
  • Experience with Peachtree/Sage software is preferred but not required.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a small to mid-sized accounting team effectively.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial data for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.

CFO PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Assisted living or healthcare industry experience.
  • Background in managing financial operations for small-to-middle market companies.

    - Ability to work independently, make decisions, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

  • Oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and present findings to owners.
  • Work closely with accounting team (Bookkeeper, Payroll/HR, Accounts Payable, Part-Time Receptionist) to ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day accounting functions.
  • Perform monthly and yearly reconciliations, manage general ledger, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Non-Accounting Responsibilities

  • Manage all banking relationships, including cash management and excess cash investment.
  • Oversee liability insurance, ensuring that coverage is adequate and up-to-date.
  • Coordinate escrow management for capital improvements.
  • Provide clear and comprehensive presentations to ownership on financial performance, business trends, and financial planning.

Team & Operations

  • Lead and develop the existing accounting team to ensure maximum efficiency and effective management of financial processes.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment on financial goals and operational needs.

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that support the overall business objectives.
  • Offer strategic input to the owners on business decisions, including potential investments and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights into key financial matters.
