Vermont Smoke & Cure is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our finance operations. In this role, you’ll manage our general ledger, financial reporting, and cost accounting while supervising our AP/AR staff. You’ll partner with our production and sales teams to drive profitability through insightful financial analysis and strategic guidance.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Controller at Vermont Smoke & Cure will lead all financial operations, overseeing general accounting functions, financial reporting, cost accounting, and cash flow management. This strategic role combines financial leadership with business partnership to drive growth and profitability. The ideal candidate will manage month-end close processes, develop financial models, and provide actionable insights to guide business decisions while supervising AP/AR staff. The Controller will collaborate with Production, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure accurate product costing and develop customer/product P&Ls. Experience with Process Pro ERP system or ability to quickly adapt to new financial systems is essential in this pivotal leadership position.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 6 – 8 years of general accounting management and/or finance reporting experience required.
  • Experience with ERP systems and demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new software systems.
  • Previous experience in CPG manufacturing and cost accounting a plus.
  • Previous experience managing and developing a team.
