JOB ORDER: FINANCIAL COUNSELOR (FULL-TIME) Employer: Boulder City Hospital Location: Boulder City, Nevada Position Type: Full-Time ---------------------------------------- GENERAL PURPOSE The Financial Counselor is responsible for managing self-pay account collections for hospital patient accounts and providing financial counseling assistance. This includes supporting patients with Medicaid referrals, county assistance programs, and charity care applications. ---------------------------------------- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Manage and collect self-pay hospital patient accounts in a professional and timely manner * Provide financial counseling to patients regarding payment options and available assistance programs * Assist patients with applications for Medicaid, county programs, and charity care * Educate patients on financial responsibilities and hospital billing procedures * Maintain accurate documentation of all patient interactions and financial arrangements * Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper account resolution * Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and privacy laws ---------------------------------------- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Ability to lift, walk, carry, and stand for extended periods * Perform job duties in both office and patient-facing environments ---------------------------------------- QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS * Ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Knowledge of healthcare billing, collections, or financial counseling preferred * Familiarity with Medicaid, charity care, and financial assistance programs preferred * Strong organizational and problem-solving skills * Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism ---------------------------------------- ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The requirements listed above represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position.
