POSITION SUMMARY

The Financial Counselor works with patients/family members to secure payment of all self-pay balances including deductibles and/or co-payment amounts, and maintains Upfront Cash detail report.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist with obtaining required income documentation and forms for patients who qualify for Charity/Indigent Care.
• Makes necessary phone calls and generates letters to patients and/or family members for any self pay balances.
• Takes an active role in attaining and maintaining accounts receivable and assists in reviewing/selecting accounts to be placed with outside collection agencies.
• Secures patient valuables in accordance with the established Policy and Procedures.
