Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida is a premier physician-owned primary care practice with locations in Cape Coral, Estero, Fort Myers, and Lehigh Acres. We are currently seeking an Financial Counselor for our Adult Medicine division in Fort Myers College Parkway. The schedule for this position is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.   Sample of Duties: * Answers patient billing questions and concerns, either by phone or through written correspondence. * Reviews accounts of scheduled patients to ascertain outstanding balances. Determines amount that patient will pay at time of visit and notifies patient prior to appointment.  Notifies front desk of expected patient payments. * Informs Check-in and Check-out staff of amount to be collected at time of service. Identifies patients who the Financial Counselor will need to speak with prior to appointment. * Establishes payment plan agreements with patients. * Verifies patient insurance benefits and obtains authorizations if applicable. * Coordinates billing information request with CBO office.  Returns requested information within 48 hours. * Record information accurately into our patient management system * Maintain the strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations Minimum Requirements: * Experience working in a high volume call center environment * Knowledge of medical charging, billing and registration policies and procedures. * Knowledge of insurance billing procedures.  * Knowledge of departments and operational relationships.  * Skill in defining problems, collecting data, interpreting billing information. * Great attention to detail and the ability to record information accurately * Ability to develop and maintain a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with providers, staff, and patients * One year of medical office experience or a combination of medical education and office experience preferred PPC Offers: * Over 29 years of serving our Southwest Florida community * Award-winning physicians * Ability to advance and grow within our organization * Health, dental, vision, disability and life insurances * 401(k) with company match * Free financial advising  * Paid Time Off (PTO) * Paid holidays * Uniform allowances at hire and each anniversary * Company paid CE courses with CE direct * Reimbursement for position required certifications and/or license * Employee Assistance Program (EAP) * Employee Resource Assistance Program (ERAP) * Discounted legal and document services * Milestone gifts * Employee appreciation events and gifts Want to learn more about Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida?
