Description
Join our team as a Financial Crime Controls Consultant and play a pivotal role in safeguarding the organisation through independent case authorisation and expert assessment of complex financial crime investigations. In this position, you will deliver robust challenge and assurance across high-risk cases, ensuring decisions are evidence-based, clearly documented, and fully aligned with regulatory expectations and internal standards. Working closely with first line teams, you will apply deep financial crime expertise across AML and fraud investigations, taking a holistic view of risk while maintaining a strong focus on fair customer outcomes and proportionate decision-making. Your ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally, will be key, alongside a collaborative approach to sharing best practice and driving continuous improvement. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced investigator with a strong background in financial or economic crime, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for strengthening controls through independent judgement. An ICA qualification (or equivalent) is desirable, combined with proven investigative experience and the confidence to challenge effectively while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.  At Nationwide, we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK-wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.   For this job, you'll be assigned to our nearest regional hub. There will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events in one of our office sites. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.   If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.
