Description

HELLO! WE’RE TEYA.

Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance.

BECOME A PART OF OUR STORY.

We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5–6 years of relevant experience in Compliance, Financial Crime, AML & CTF roles - ideally in fintech, digital banking, credit or financial services.
  • University degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and EU AML regulations, e.g. FCA, JMLSG guidance, MLRs, POCA, FATF and Basel standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of clear, concise advice, procedures, SARs, policies and regulatory communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement, such as analysing workflows, identifying inefficiencies and recommending enhancements to tools, policies and procedures.
  • Whilst not required, professional certifications such as CAMS, ICA Advanced AML, CFCS and strong data or analytical skills (e.g. SQL, Excel) are desirable.
Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Head of Compliance and work in an enthusiastic, forward-thinking and motivated second line Compliance team.
  • Conduct comprehensive Enhanced Due Diligence ("EDD") reviews on high-risk customers and manage Suspicious Activity Reports ("SARs") to the National Crime Agency and Financial Intelligence Units.
  • Oversee regulatory policy monitoring and change management, staying at the forefront of evolving AML & CTF and sanctions regulations, and advising relevant teams on required process adjustments.
  • Help develop Teya’s internal KYC and KYB tools and drive process improvements and automation within the financial crime control environment - identifying gaps, proposing enhancements to EDD workflows, SAR quality, alert parameters, and monitoring tools to make controls more efficient and effective.
  • Perform second‑line oversight and quality assurance of first-line controls, alert handling, case management, and EDD outputs.
  • Collaborate across functions, including Legal, Risk and Operations, providing advice to ensure alignment with Teya’s policies and regulation.
