What You Will Do;
As a Financial Inventory Analyst with Sporting Life and Team Town Sports, you will support the Inventory Control Manager to ensure the integrity and accuracy of inventory data across all systems.
Within this role you will be responsible for understanding the organizational processes over inventory and supporting inventory accuracy through daily monitoring and completion of inventory adjustments and reconciliations. Drawing on your ERP and Excel experience, you will develop an inventory dashboard to keep management apprised of updates on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis.
- Daily reconciliation of the inventory to external systems; NFI WMS to D365.
- Ensure appropriate Journal Entries for transactions that are not integrated or require manual intervention are recorded.
- Complete inventory adjustments on a timely basis and ensure adjustments flow to the GL and are allocated to the correct store.
- Support the preparation of a monthly shrink reserve.
- Support the monthly reconciliation of the inventory clearing account ensuring the balance is nil at month end and all values are allocated to correct GL accounts.
- Assist with the recording of provisions impacting your areas of responsibility.
- Assist Finance in the investigation of variances identified during roll forward analysis and cost reviews, as well as, negative on hands and aging reviews.
- Daily, Weekly, and Monthly monitoring and resolution of exceptions for all inventory related transactions to/from supporting Inventory sub-systems (Stores, E-commerce, 3PL, Special Orders, EDI, Invoice Matching, and Vendor Revenue). Communicate as necessary to management.
- Support A/P in the monthly reconciliation of Goods Received Not Invoiced and Unmatched Invoices listings by assisting with investigation of any variances identified and where required communicating to stores.
- Daily and Weekly monitoring and resolution of exceptions between D365 and the data warehouse.
- Alongside the Inventory Control Manager, execute the physical inventory count process. Reconcile counts with teams, review proposed adjustments from Regional Managers and obtain approval, posts and check adjustments. Summarize results for Regional Managers and the business.
- As required, support the annual external audit pertaining to inventory related reconciliations.
- Review (process change), monitor (compliance) and support Supply Chain, Retail Operations, and Finance with respect to Store and DC Inventory Control business processes including, but not limited to, Receiving (POs, Transfers, Vendor Replacements), Returns to Vendors (recalls, replacements, damages, customer inventory), Inventory destruction (damage allowance and store damages), Inventory Adjustments (quantity), and unique programs (used, demos, custom, promotional SKUs).
- Participate in inventory taskforce.
- Prepare inventory related reports to assist management in making informed business decisions.
- Support the monthly forecast and annual budget process for areas responsible.
- Perform testing of inventory related reports for accuracy and completeness.

What You Will Bring;
- 3-5 years’ retail or relevant experience.
- Strong analytical and business process skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including English at business level.
- Advanced Excel and PowerBI skills required.
- Strong Retail systems knowledge (D365)
- Independent, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and changing environment.
