We have grown into the largest dermatology practice in central Indiana with offices within Indianapolis and the surrounding communities. The practice has 11 board-certified dermatologists, a team of experienced extenders, and a licensed esthetician providing services. About the Role Our growing medical practice is currently seeking to fill a full-time position of Financial Controller for the practice and related entities. The Controller is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and other compliance requirements. Successful candidates will have a desire to work in an environment based on trust and integrity. Responsibilities Responsible for timely, accurate, and complete financial statements. Make recommendations and proper adjustments as needed to accommodate strategic, compliance, and industry changes. Handles all accounting matters related to payroll, including the calculation of physician compensation in a production-based model. Maintains/monitors the fixed asset listing, ensuring depreciation schedules are up to date. Assist with the administration of the pension plan, providing timely and accurate information to the Third-Party Administrator charged with maintaining the plan. Assist leadership in identifying opportunities to improve the overall financial health of the company. Assist company decision-making with special analysis by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Ensure corporate tax and all other business/financial compliance filings are timely and accurately completed. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures to ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. Manages all insurance, corporate, and malpractice. Manages all loans of the entities. Maintains administrative duties for any cash, check, or other financial instrument system. Prepares and presents management reports to practice leadership, including reviews of financial performance, accounts receivable indicators, and financial dashboards. Prepares annual budgets and monitors actual progress against the same. Primary contact with external accountants and financial advisors. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 5+ years of progressively responsible experience. Required Skills Strong leadership skills, and experience in leading/managing a team. Proven and measurable results towards continuous improvements and a consistent progression in roles and responsibilities. Strong computer skills Office, Excel experience, Quickbooks, Payroll systems (Paylocity.) Experience in the Healthcare Industry is a plus. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work independently and meet multiple competing deadlines. Strategic planning and budget forecasting Must be detail oriented, organized, and accurate. Must pass a criminal background check. Preferred Skills Experience in HealthCare Industry is a plus. Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, a plus. Pay range and compensation package Competitive based on experience.
