Schedule: Part-Time (approx. 8–20 hours per week, flexible schedule, scheduled as needed)
Position Overview: St. Edmund’s Retreat is seeking a strategic and analytical Part-Time Financial Manager to support high-level financial planning and oversight. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role serves as a financial advisor and coordinator, helping guide the long-term fiscal health of the organization. The Financial Manager will provide oversight of financial systems, offer forecasting and analysis, and liaise with external auditors and consultants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (MBA or CPA preferred but not required)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant financial experience, with mission driven nonprofit experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and reporting
  • Familiarity with audit procedures and external financial review
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with executive leadership
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the CEO on financial planning, forecasting, and strategic budget development
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and recommend adjustments as necessary
  • Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership including Statement of activities, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
  • Support compliance with nonprofit financial reporting and grant requirements
  • Participate in the preparation for and coordination of annual audits
  • Review and refine internal financial controls and procedures
  • Offer support and guidance to the accounting staff as needed
  • Assist in long-term financial planning for capital projects, staffing plans, and investment strategies
  • Communicate clearly with board members, auditors, and senior staff on financial issues
