SUMMARY: Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Financial Planning & Analysis will serve as a strategic finance partner to the business, leading all budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning activities across our operations. This role is based in Calgary, AB. DIRECT REPORTS: * N/A KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:  Strategic Planning & Forecasting * Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly reforecast cycles for all business units * Develop and maintain a rolling 3- to 5-year long-range financial model to support strategic decision-making * Partner with executive leadership to translate corporate strategy into detailed financial plans and KPIs * Monitor macroeconomic conditions, commodity pricing, and competitive dynamics to inform forecasts * Completes market research and comparable company analysis * Recommend strategies for increasing financial performance Financial Analysis & Reporting * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting packages with variance analysis and commentary * Design and maintain executive dashboards and financial performance scorecards * Conduct deep-dive analysis on manufacturing cost drivers, capacity utilization, yield rates, and operational efficiency * Support month-end close activities in collaboration with the Controller and Accounting team * Escalate any financial issues to management. Cross-Border & Multi-Entity Finance * Manage consolidated financial reporting across Canadian (CAD) and US (USD) entities, including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translation * Ensure compliance with relevant Canadian (IFRS) and US (GAAP) reporting standards as applicable * Partner with Tax and Treasury on transfer pricing, cross-border cash management, and FX hedging strategies * Support audits and regulatory filings in both jurisdictions Business Partnering & Capital Allocation * Act as a trusted finance business partner to Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Engineering leaders * Evaluate capital investment proposals, new product lines, and capacity expansion projects through rigorous NPV/IRR and scenario analysis * Support M&A due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition performance tracking as required * Identify cost reduction and margin improvement opportunities and track realization of initiatives Team Leadership * Foster a high-performance, collaborative team culture aligned with company values * Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, tools, and systems (ERP, BI, planning software) QUALIFICATIONS & COMPENTENCIES: * Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field * CPA, CFA, or MBA designation strongly preferred * 8+ years of progressive FP&A experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role * Prior experience in manufacturing, industrials, energy, or a capital-intensive industry * Deep expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and multi-entity consolidation * Proven ability to work across Canadian and US regulatory and reporting environments * Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel * Experience with BI and planning tools (Power BI, Tableau, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, or equivalent) * Experience in the battery, EV, cleantech, or advanced manufacturing sector * Familiarity with commodity cost structures, production cost accounting, and standard costing * Experience supporting Board or investor reporting WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This role is conducted in an office environment requiring some or all the following: * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or workstation * Repetitive hand and arm movements  * Occasional lifting up to 20lbs may be required * Frequent reaching, grasping, pushing or pulling, bending or twisting motions * Walking short distances and standing for meetings or other office activities
