Description Financial Planning & Analysis Manager Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical FP&A Manager to support a dynamic, growth-oriented private equity platform company. This individual will be a key business partner to senior leadership, driving financial insights, operational visibility, and strategic decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate has a strong track record of delivering results in a PE-sponsored environment, thrives in fast-paced settings, and brings the professional polish and executive presence expected from an FP&A leader supporting board-level stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Financial Planning & Forecasting Lead the company’s budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes. Develop and maintain detailed financial models across revenue, margin, operating expenses, and cash flow. Identify key business drivers and proactively highlight risks/opportunities. Reporting & Analysis Prepare monthly reporting packages and operational dashboards for executive leadership and PE sponsors. Conduct variance analysis and deliver insights with clear narratives and actionable recommendations. Standardize FP&A reporting processes to support scale as the platform grows. Business Partnership Collaborate closely with Operations, Sales, Accounting, and Human Resources to support strategic and tactical initiatives. Support commercial and operational leaders with margin analysis, pricing insights, KPI tracking, and investment justification. Help evaluate post-acquisition integration performance and synergy capture. Private Equity & Board Support Assist in preparing materials for board meetings, lender reporting, and investor updates. Support value-creation initiatives, including cost optimization, strategic investments, and growth projects. Partner with the PE sponsor on analytics needed for operational reviews and strategic planning. Requirements 7–10 years of progressive FP&A or strategic finance experience, preferably with exposure to a private equity–backed platform. Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency with Excel; experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Adaptive, etc.) preferred. Demonstrated ability to communicate insights clearly to senior leaders and influence decision-making. Solid understanding of GAAP financial statements and key business metrics. High sense of ownership, intellectual curiosity, and ability to operate with limited structure. Track record of strong professional performance; someone who has consistently demonstrated advancement and impact. Physical Demands of the job may include: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Manual dexterity needed for typing and other repetitive tasks. Must be able to speak in an accurate and detailed manner on the phone or in person. Location and hours of the job: This is a hybrid position with four days at the SMG office and one day working from home.
