SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in finance system implementation and optimisation.
  • A proven record of achievement in a senior management role leading a business unit through change to achieve high performance and a positive organisational culture.
  • A relevant tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualifications in accounting or business management or a related discipline.
  • A professional qualification as a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent.
  • A detailed working knowledge of TechnologyOne finance system is highly desirable.
  • Track record of building reports using PowerBI, and advanced MS Excel skills desirable.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager is responsible for leading the Finance Business Partner team in providing expert financial management services and support across the EPA.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Lead the Finance Business Partner team in building, maintaining, and leveraging strategic relationships and partnerships to ensure that the EPA is a trusted and influential authority.
  • Coordinate development of the annual budget, and forward estimates; providing expert advice and support across the EPA (including through business partnering) on budgeting, and financial planning and management, including upskilling employees to improve overall financial management competency of the organisation.
  • Streamline the financial planning, budgeting and analysis processes through the effective design and utilisation of existing technologies and skills, including the implementation of self-service reporting to the organisation, cashflow forecasting and reporting, and financial forecasting.
  • Support the Financial Accounting team with month-end and year-end activities to ensure financial compliance with statutory requirements including the Financial Management Act 1994.
