Job Description
How This Role Impacts Live Oak and its People
The Financial Planning Analyst role is an integral part of helping drive long term success at LiveOak Bank, through effectively analyzing the financial performance and strategic decisioning process. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, this role will partner with Live Oakers across the organization to provide insightful reporting and analysis to better inform executive management of key financial trends which may impact future performance.

What You’ll Do at Live Oak

  • Assist in the building and maintenance of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports measuring financial performance across the Bank.
  • Leverage existing financial acumen to critically analyze performance and data across both the general ledger and various cloud-based software tools to more accurately model and best inform Business Unit decisions.
  • Successfully partner with key stakeholders and Executive Leadership across the Bank to provide support and drive strategic decisioning.
  • Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking.
  • Assist in developing the company-wide budget, reforecasts, and strategic plan.
  • Partner with business unit and department heads to validate assumptions.
  • Analyze past results, track KPIs, uncover trends, perform variance analysis, and determine recommendations for improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders of all levels across the organization, including Executive Leadership
  • Perform ad hoc analysis on various projections or trends and conduct industry or benchmarking analyses.
  • Coordinate closely with the Accounting, Treasury, and Data organizations to deliver accurate and informative reporting packages.
  • Assist in preparation for all audits, examinations, and reviews conducted by internal or external auditors and regulators.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of financial planning and analysis experience, or another related analytical field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Analytical and data gathering skills
  • The ability to exercise discretion

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with financial modeling and techniques
  • Professional certifications (CPA, CFA) or aspiration to obtain
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning

The base pay range for this position is $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy. A candidate’s salary is determined by several factors including travel, relevant work experience or skills and expertise.
