FINANCIAL PLANNING ANALYST

  • Help drive the financial planning and performance cycle by coordinating strategic plans, delivering insights, and supporting effective decision-making.

To meet the evolving needs of our work and ensure continued success, we’re excited to introduce a newly established role to NFU Mutual within our successful Finance division as Financial Planning Analyst. This permanent opportunity sits within our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department who are integral to our financial management and strategic planning activities that help the business achieve its financial goals and deliver sustainable profitable growth.
As Financial Planning Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the financial planning and performance cycle – this is an ongoing process used to plan, manage, and review our financial strategy and performance. Its structured approach ensures resources are allocated effectively and financial goals are achieved. You’ll be responsible for developing and coordinating strategic plans, delivering valuable insights, and driving informed decision-making. A key focus of the role is to enhance and streamline tools and processes, contributing to continuous improvement and ensuring the financial planning function evolves in line with best practices.
You’ll help keep everything on track by managing regular status updates, ensuring we have a clear and accurate view of progress. You’ll also help track progress by collecting and sharing reports, summaries, and updates on financial planning and performance.

Further duties include:

  • Coordinate group-level reporting across the financial planning cycle, ensuring timelines, contributors, and governance requirements are clearly managed.
  • Support financial planning ‘health checks’ by tracking audit and assurance recommendations to ensure compliance with NFU Mutual standards.
  • Monitor and maintain planning controls by recording risks, issues, and dependencies, highlighting key areas and supporting solutions to reduce delivery impact.
  • Organise and manage planning meetings and workshops, including capturing outcomes and producing minutes to ensure smooth delivery and governance compliance.
