Finance - Financial Planning and Analytics Specialist
Basic Purpose of the Job
The Financial Planning & Analytics Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the hospital’s financial health by providing budgeting, forecasting, and analytical support to hospital leadership. The position is responsible for analyzing service line performance, patient volume trends, payer mix, and cost drivers, enabling evidence-based decision-making. The FP&A Specialist partners with clinical and administrative leaders to align financial planning with the hospital’s mission of delivering high-quality, sustainable patient care.
Minimum Work Experience
3–5 years of financial analysis experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
Strong understanding of hospital financials (patient service revenue, payer contracts, cost reporting, case mix).
Familiarity with hospital ERP systems and financial planning software.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
Any related finance certifications (CMA, CFP&A) or healthcare finance certification (HFMA CHFP, FHFMA
