DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

The mandate of the Department of Justice is to administer justice, including policing, community justice, victims services and corrections in the Northwest Territories. This mandate will be carried out in a manner which respects community and indigenous values and encourages communities to assume increasing responsibilities.

• Coordinate departmental budget exercises and maintain coding structures.
• Monitor and report on contribution agreements and prepare budget loads.
• Lead variance reporting and forecasting activities.
• Maintain historical financial data for the division.
• Administer the joint strategic planning committee with the RCMP.
• Ensure compliance with GNWT financial legislation and policies.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations
