OVERVIEW

The ideal candidate will be supporting a Senior Financial Planner in delivering client-centric, needs-focused financial planning, with particular responsibility for management and growth of B, C, and D client relationships. This role requires a balance of technical proficiency, ethical selling, and operational support for client meetings and portfolio management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Enrollment in or completion of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation program.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning principles.
  • Strong analytical, research, and technology skills, including proficiency in financial planning software and reporting.
  • Excellent client-focused communication and interpersonal skills, including needs-based selling, active listening, and the ability to explain complex concepts simply.
  • Prior experience (internship or professional) in financial planning, investment advisory, or insurance sales.
  • Mutual fund license and life insurance license (or willingness to obtain both promptly).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude with willingness to learn from senior leadership and grow into increased advisory responsibilities.
  • Willingness to learn both technical and sales skills relevant to holistic financial planning (including cash flow, tax, insurance, and investment strategies).

Responsibilities
  • A “client-first” perspective with genuine care for meeting client needs and building lasting relationships.
  • Proactively engage and service a portfolio of existing B, C, and D clients with needs-based analysis, solution design, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Prepare for and support senior planner in client review meetings, including research, documentation, plan updates, and follow-up tasks.
  • Conduct discovery conversations with clients to understand their goals, needs, and constraints, recommending appropriate investment and insurance solutions.
  • Implement and monitor client financial plans, including ongoing review of risk, performance, cash flow, and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and ethical sales practices at all times.
  • Maintain accurate, organized records of client interactions, compliance documentation, and sales pipelines.
  • Educate clients on financial planning concepts, building confidence and deepening trust in the client relationship.
  • Support the prospecting process by participating in marketing events, follow-up activities, and client referrals.
  • Excellent time management and ability to juggle multiple client cases simultaneously.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, evolving products, and regulatory requirements.
