Your Role As a Financial/Professional Lines Consultant, you’ll play a key role in managing professional indemnity claims with precision and care. You’ll lead the resolution process — whether through legal defence, negotiated settlement, or litigation — ensuring outcomes that align with both customer expectations and financial objectives. You’ll provide direction to legal practitioners on litigated matters and negotiate directly with brokers, insureds and third party claimants on non-litigated claims to achieve cost-effective results. Your responsibilities also include accurate reserve setting, claims administration, and delivering exceptional service that reflects the full protection offered under CGU policies. By working collaboratively and proactively, you’ll contribute to CGU’s ambition to be a leader in the intermediated insurance space, while upholding a high standard of professionalism and customer focus. This is a permanent hybrid role and you can be based in Gadigal Country (Sydney), Meanjin (Brisbane) or Naarm (Melbourne). About You You’ll be/ have: Professional Indemnity/Financial Lines: Minimum 2+ years PQE in managing complex professional risk claims, including litigation and settlements. Negotiation and Advocacy: Skilled in handling litigated and non-litigated matters, mediations, and achieving favourable resolutions. Legal and Regulatory Insight: Strong background in legal, insurance, or regulatory environments, with a focus on professional indemnity. Claims Management Proficiency: Capable of overseeing claims from initial notification through to final resolution, including litigated & regulatory matters. Customer and Stakeholder Focus: Proven ability to deliver high-quality service while engaging effectively with brokers, legal professionals, and internal teams.
