DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Finance & Treasury function covers a broad spectrum of financial responsibilities for the Bank. Under the leadership of the CFO and the finance department heads, the team is responsible for equity raising and investor relations; treasury and liquidity management; prudential risk and regulatory reporting; financial reporting and accounting, financial planning, and tax management activities.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & EXPERIENCE

• Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent, ideally with experience in audit for a Big 4/Top 10 accountancy firm.
• Experience of working in the FinTech/Banking/Financial Services industry, either in audit or in industry.
• Experience of preparing or reviewing financial statements.
• A genuine passion for FinTech and wants to contribute to the growth of Allica at an exciting phase of our journey.
• Have strong analytical skillset, including the utilisation of data and reporting tools to solve complex problems
• Have the ability to work autonomously and take initiative as required whilst working well within a team
• Confident communicator, capable of translating financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong technical accounting skills
• Experience utilising AI tools for process improvement and automation is desirable.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join our Finance team at an exciting phase of our growth journey. The successful candidate will be responsible for several areas of our period-end reporting processes, the review and challenge of certain key accounting assessments & judgements, support the maturity journey of finance and automation of our processes & controls, as well as supporting numerous high-impact projects.
This role would suit an individual who has recently qualified at a Big 4/Top 10 accountancy firm and is looking to gain experience in working for a fast-growth environment/in the FinTech industry.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Support the preparation of the Bank’s annual financial statements (including front-end and back-end), leveraging the Bank’s Annual Report software.
• Performance of variance analysis, reviewing variances against prior period actuals and forecasts and preparing summary commentary for management.
• Support the year-end audit process, working closely with the Bank’s external auditors.
• Review of other key accounting areas and judgments/estimates.
• Working with the Finance Transformation team to enhance processes & controls, including the identification of automation/AI opportunities.
• Support a number of key strategic projects, providing sound accounting advice and implementation/integration support.
• Working across the wider finance function across month-end processes and on ad hoc projects
