ROLE:
The Financial Reporting Accountant will assist the Accounting Manager and CFO in the preparation of internal and regulatory reporting. This is a dynamic role that requires adhering to timelines and attention to detail. This role also requires continuous communication with all members of the accounting department, as well as all members of the credit union team, to ensure it is operating effectively.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preparation of financial reports including, but not limited to, monthly financial statements and quarterly NCUA 5300 Call Reports.
Function as liaison with the Audit department during all internal, external, and supervisory audits and exams. Ensure the completeness and quality of all materials to be provided.
Works with the Accounting Manager and Staff Accountants to resolve reconciliation discrepancies and provide back-up when necessary.
Provide system administration for financial software and platforms, including regular audits and user management. As directed, implement technology enhancements, streamline procedures, and improve processes within the department.
Responsible for maintaining monthly and daily reconciliations, and subledger, as assigned.
Assists Accounting Manager and CFO with the preparation of the Annual Budget, FAS91 Cost Study, and other reporting as requested.
Perform other job-related duties, including ad-hoc reporting, as assigned.
