Financial Reporting Accountant

We are working with a FTSE listed natural resources business to find a new financial reporting accountant, the role will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality financial data for reporting purposes.
The role will be part of the group finance team which is made up of 10 people on their fantastic central London offices, where they operate on a hybrid working basis other than year end and interim which requires a larger office presence.

The key responsibilities will include

• Contribute to the preparation and review of note disclosures for the Group financial statements, including the Annual Report and interim and year-end results announcements.
• Ensure effective operation of Group Financial Reporting processes and adherence to defined timescales.
• Provide expert financial reporting and HFM consolidation support in response to ad hoc queries.
• Act as a key contact for Group Reporting and review submissions to the group reporting tool, advising on technical accounting matters.
• Support Finance projects, applying knowledge of IFRS, the Group consolidation system, and project management skills to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Review financial information submitted by business units for monthly actuals reporting, budgets, and forecasts.
• Collaborate with the Finance Systems Team to implement changes to the Group consolidation system (HFM) and provide training on accounting developments and issues.

The ideal candidate will be

• Qualified accountant - ACA or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of complex commercial and technical accounting issues and good knowledge of IFRS.
• Working knowledge of financial consolidation systems, with HFM-Hyperion experience being an advantage.
• Proven analytical skills, attention to detail, and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience in a natural resources environment (preferred)
