ABOUT YOU
You’re someone who thrives on variety, takes pride in doing things properly, and is ready to build a career in a professional and purpose-driven environment. Whether you’re early in your career or looking to pivot into something new, you bring a strong sense of responsibility and a desire to learn, grow, and contribute to meaningful work that supports both our people and our customers. You’ll be experienced with administrative duties, specifically using PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
You’ll be joining a busy and fast-evolving area of the business, so adaptability and a positive mindset are key. You’re the kind of person who takes pride in doing things well and can be relied on to get stuck in — whether that’s reviewing documents, supporting training delivery, or helping colleagues troubleshoot an issue — and you’re naturally proactive, always looking for ways to add value and take initiative. With a strong sense of customer focus, you communicate clearly and professionally, and you’re comfortable working across teams to get things done. Most importantly, you want to grow in knowledge, skills, and responsibility — and you’re looking for a team that will support and challenge you as you do.
Key skills:
Entry criteria: To join us as our Financial Services G&R Trainee, you’ll need to have achieved a 2:2 (second class) honours degree. Ideally this will be in a subject with a focus on Financial Services; e.g. accountancy and finance, business management, economics. However, we welcome candidates with qualifications from a broad range of topics, as what truly matters to us is your passion for learning, curiosity, and potential for growth.
Please note this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship as it does not fulfil the criteria set by the Home Office
This vacancy may close early depending on application volumes, so we recommend getting your application in as soon as possible!

We recognise that some candidates may experience barriers during the recruitment process. So, we encourage candidates to discuss any adjustments or accommodations they need to be the best they can be throughout our recruitment process.

Our Governance & Risk (G&R) Trainee role is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple teams within the Financial Services division of NFU Mutual. Working closely with team members across the G&R teams, you’ll rotate through a variety of placements in training, customer conduct, Training and Competency, and adviser support to gain a deep and broad understanding of how we govern and support our financial services business.
As part of the team, you’ll contribute to live projects, help improve our processes, support training initiatives, and gain insight into how we manage regulatory requirements. From helping to shape new training materials to supporting major transformation programmes, your work will be varied and meaningful. You’ll be shadowing specialist colleagues, going out into the regions to attend meetings and support training and reviewing cases to start becoming familiar with the governance review process in line with FCA regulations. This role offers a unique chance to build capability in a highly regulated environment.
This is a developmental role for someone eager to learn, take ownership of their career journey, and grow into a future specialist or leader within Governance & Risk. You’ll be encouraged and supported to study towards a professional qualification while developing the core skills and experience needed for long-term success in the financial services industry.
If your application is shortlisted, you’ll be invited to a telephone interview with a member of our team, and the final stage will be an Assessment Centre in person on 11th July.
