Laboratory Coordinator Job Responsibilities: Completes required annual training (i.e. Advance Notification of Medicare non-coverage, Three-day Window Rule, Outpatient Technical Modifiers, Reimbursement Rules, System Corporate Compliance Policies/Procedures and System Safety Education). Maintains a working knowledge of internal processes. Completes all customer service requests within 24 hours. Demonstrates a working knowledge of current laboratory billing systems. Follows site-specific standard operating procedures, manuals, and instructions. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of team functions and specialized terminology of third-party payers. Uses standard practices, policies/procedures and applies them in appropriate situations to achieve desired outcomes. Increases value to Inova Health System by cross-training or receiving advanced certifications/performing special procedures requiring special skills or joining committees. May perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Education: Associate degree in a relevant field of study or completed coursework for RN, LPN, MT, MLT or MA in lieu of education. Years of Experience: One year of work experience in billing, collection, customer service, cash posting, and administrative support experience with a multi laboratory system.
