We have an exciting opportunity to join our team in a full-time position that we call a Financial Services Coordinator - Member Services. Reporting to the Wealth, Estate and Operations Manager, the Financial Services Coordinator provides exceptional customer service to members with a variety of services related to the promotion and sale of cash and non-cash related deposit products and services. With a focus on sales, this position responds to members and potential members inquiries, analyzes needs, and assists members to utilize the product or service which best meets those needs. In addition, there are clearing responsibilities that include processing entries and maintaining and balancing the general ledgers and all charts of accounts. As a small team-based organization, the Financial Services Coordinator also enjoys variety and career development in supporting other areas including wealth and estate administration and lending administration as required.
This position is 100% on site and is based at our Milner Branch in Scarborough but also requires occasional travel to other GTA branch locations in Newmarket and Whitby to provide coverage as needed. Office hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry (retail banking or wealth management), or an equivalent of education and experience
  • Accounting skills, knowledge of financial products and services
  • High school diploma
  • Excellent skills in needs-based selling, focusing on meeting the known and unknown needs of the client
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Committed to providing member service excellence and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with members
  • A strong team player who enjoys building a business with a highly energetic team, yet can also work independently to achieve the credit union’s goals and objectives
  • Self-learner with high motivation to engage in continuous learning and self-development opportunities
  • The ability to efficiently and effectively manage competing priorities
  • Driver’s license or ability to travel to other branches as required
  • Must be bondable
