The intensity of growth and investment in City of Parramatta means that Council, their partners, and community have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape the City’s future and ensure it is culturally, socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable.    About the role  The Financial Systems Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the seamless utilisation of Councils’ financial systems to provide timely information and business processes to support effective decision making.  This role will assist in driving an innovative approach to automate processes and functions to ensure that the organisation is making informed decisions with reliable data. On a daily basis you will: * Assist with the development of financial data analytics capability across Council aligned with ICT Strategy * Assist with the development of organisational training and capability uplift on financial system processes and procedures.  * Assist in the design, development and implementation of new or upgrade finance systems to ensure seamless integration with other finance systems and business processes. * Assist with the management of the financial systems to ensure accuracy and integrity of all financial data, so that finance systems can be confidently used in the decision-making process. * Identify system risks, implement internal controls, and streamline financial workflows to reduce audit exposure. * Provide advice in finance systems, maintaining good knowledge of developments and best practices and proactively explore options to deliver productivity for the Finance Unit and wider organisation. * Assist with the implementation of framework including governance, policies and procedures to ensure reliability of Finance systems integration to subsidiary and external systems.   About You  The successful candidate will bring the essential requirements:  * Degree in accounting or a business-related discipline or IT with Finance focus and/or relevant experience.  * Extensive experience of 3 or more years in a financial and/or management accounting role, or in a system accounting role. * Experience with Technology One CI or CIA  * Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Strong general understanding of Financials, Supply Chains, Assets and Payroll processes within Local Government.   What’s on offer  We are offering a full-time permanent opportunity with an attractive remuneration from $121,367.67 plus 12% superannuation.
