Description

ABOUT MERCHANTS OF THIRST

Merchants of Thirst is a California-based importer and distributor built around wines with character and honesty. We work directly with independent growers and winemakers who farm organically, prioritize sustainability, and keep intervention in the cellar to a minimum. These are wines with soul, expressive, clean, and true to where they come from.
Our team comes out of hospitality, production, and retail, so we approach distribution with service at the core. The portfolio leans natural, but the throughline is quality: fresh, balanced, fault-free bottles you can pour for natty bars or classic white-tablecloth restaurants without apology.
We believe in long-term partnerships, straight talk, and championing producers we actually drink and stand behind. Our clients include chef-driven restaurants, neighborhood shops, natural wine bars, and boutique grocers. Standards high, egos low.

POSITION SUMMARY

We re looking for a motivated, connected sales rep to take over Sacramento and the surrounding area.
You ll step into an established base of accounts with room to grow. The job is equal parts relationship-nurturing and territory-building, ideal for someone who already has strong ties in the Sacramento market or someone looking to add a second, non-conflicting book.
This isn t an entry-level role, we want someone who knows the players, has the confidence to hit the ground running, and can build with us long-term.

TO APPLY

Apply through this posting and tell us:
-
Your wine market experience
-
The types of accounts you thrive in
-
Why Merchants of Thirst feels like a fit
Bonus points: include a wine you re currently obsessed with.
We re looking for someone who gets that good wine and good relationships are built the same way: patiently, honestly, and with intent. If you can speak to natty bars and classic collectors in the same day and love the storytelling side of this work, we d love to hear from you.
This isn t just a sales job. It s a chance to grow with a company doing things with care and purpose.
