Finish Department – Taxidermy
Location

Finish Department Manager - Taxidermy
Summary
This is a full-time position, responsible for the finish production of taxidermy work in the Finish Department.

Responsibilities
· Use photographs and other reference material necessary to achieve accuracy in finish product
· Groom mounts and remove any dust or dirt
· Clean antlers/horns and remove any bondo, blood, dirt, or other foreign matter
· Repair shrinkage with epoxy sculpt around eyes, mouth, nose, and antlers/horns
· Paint all required areas with natural colors – maintain and follow consistent paint schedules and techniques for each species of animal
· Gloss or matte finish on appropriate areas of the nose, mouth, eyes, and other painted areas
· Final inspection for imperfections related to, but not limited to, paint on the eyes, in the hair, on the horns, or any other problem areas
· Finished mounts are inspected by Department Manager
· Performs other related duties assigned by supervisors or managers

1or more years of taxidermy type experience
Physical Demands
This job requires the ability to bend, stand, and lift. Must be able to stand for extensive periods of time and perform repetitive motion. This position is classified as Medium Work, with the requirements of exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and or less than 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time hourly position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7am-3:30pm but additional hours may be required. In state or out of state travel may be required to assist on deliveries and/or mountain jobs. Hours may vary per management discretion.
Responsibilities
The role involves the finish production of taxidermy work, including grooming mounts, cleaning antlers, and painting required areas. Final inspections for imperfections are also part of the responsibilities.
