JOB DESCRIPTION

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business].
As a manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Supervisors/Leads and individual contributors for one of the key areas within the Global Logistics & Containers Organization: Intercontinental Port Operations and EV Charging. You will be responsible for planning an effective intercontinental network to deliver vehicles to our dealers.
GM is seeking a highly motivated Manager to oversee our U.S. port, import, and export operations, EV charging health and programs, and port repair programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international and multi-modal logistics.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years relevant experience in operations, procurement, logistics, or supply chain
  • Proven experience in international or cross-border logistics, multi-mode logistics, and/or EV infrastructure
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data, develop actionable insights, and present concisely to all levels of leadership.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities supporting autonomous action

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Developed skillset with respect to data management tools: Power BI, Excel, TMS, AI, etc.
  • Knowledge of automotive, finished vehicle, and/or dangerous goods industry regulations and standards
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, train, develop and mentor a team of Finished Vehicle Logisticians to build resiliency within the organization.
  • Work across functions at GM to execute vehicle deliveries priorities, balancing cost, service, and quality.
  • Act as subject matter expert to influence the development of business processes and IT systems.
  • Develop and analyze complex data to generate business cases designed to influence organizational change for resiliency, efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Lead vendor relationship development with ports, ocean carriers, third party service providers, etc.
