POSITION SUMMARY:

The Finishing Cleaner is considered a highly skilled labourer acting as the final point of internal quality control for our steel trusses. Under the direction of the Distribution Leader, the Finishing Cleaner will ensure quality and workmanship, and perform all tasks related to the cleaning process.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Knowledge

  • A Forklift / Telehandler Certificate

Skills

  • Knowledge of hand/power tools
  • Able to operate equipment such as grinders, forklifts and hand tools
  • Able to inspect parts for quality assurance
  • Able to perform basic math problems
  • Operate Forklift moving a variety of materials
  • Self-starter & Team Player
  • Excellent time management & attention to detail
  • Physical strength is required for manual material handling
  • Able to read a measuring tape, blueprints and parts lists
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Experience

  • 2 year of related experience as a General Labourer in a manufacturing environment

Communication

  • Strong English Communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
  • Process material through the cleaning area
  • Follow the proper processes in the cleaning of HDG parts
  • Produce product to the company’s quality standards
  • Clean, Package, Bundle, Label and Certifying finished product
  • Ensure equipment and tools are in good working order
  • Responsible for maintaining the fixtures and tooling
  • Inventory activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking
  • Maintain logs and reports as required
  • May operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods
  • Consistently maintain an acceptable level of productivity
  • Have attention to detail and accuracy
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear all PPE required for the job
  • Maintains a clean, safe working environment for self and co-workers
  • Other duties as assigned
