Universal is committed to providing the best quality, delivery, and service possible.  Benefits start day 1!!!! * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance  Finishing Crew Member III – Peeler Operator Wage: $21.25 then $21.75 at qualification/ end of probationary period (additional .50 cent differential change for night shift) Day shift: 6 am to 6 pm /4 days on, 4 days off.   Night shift: 6 pm to 6 am / 4 days on, 4 days off.  12-hour shifts - Steady days/nights Lathe or CNC experience a plus! Prior steel mill or industrial furnace experience  Tow motor and crane experience  Must have reliable transportation Must be able to read tape measurer   Duties * Correctly sets up machine for grade/diameter of material to be peeled, including selection of head, cutting inserts and speed, feed and dimensional input * Makes test cut.  Properly assesses resulting diameter and finish. Accurately determines any corrections to be made to the settings * Properly peels entire bar with smooth, continuous finish and acceptable RMS per order specification * Monitors wear of tooling and its effect on surface finish.  Replaces worn tooling to maintain acceptable product quality * Complete operator maintenance tasks and report any equipment issues * Complete all necessary tasks and/or change overs to efficiently operate equipment * Ensure the next shift is set up to run efficiently Tools/equipment used: Including but not limited to, Peeler, profilometer, pi tape, assorted hand tools, no-touch tools, hand grinder. Schedule: * 12-hour shift * Holidays * Weekends * Day shift or night shift  Education: * High school Diploma or equivalent (Required)  Experience: * Remote Crane: 1 year (Preferred) * Forklift: 1 year (Preferred)   Work Location: One location
