Business Unit: Company 3 Position: Finishing Editor Location: Atlanta, GA (On Site) *Pay Range: $36.00 - $46.00 USD hourly POSITION SUMMARY: The Finishing (Conform) Editor is responsible for conforming high-resolution picture elements based on client-provided metadata and reference media, ensuring accuracy and consistency in the final edit. This role includes VFX drop-ins, preparing color timelines, titling, rendering multiple versions, and mastering final picture, while providing editorial support to the Finishing Colorist and supervising client sessions for QC and VFX reviews. The Finishing Editor collaborates across editorial, color, VFX, and sound teams, requiring strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The Finishing Editor works closely with the Head of Production and Producers to support project needs across the facility. MAIN DUTIES: The Finishing Editor will conform high-resolution picture elements using client-provided metadata and reference media. They will manage and organize projects from conform through final delivery, including exporting masters and creating archives. They will perform DaVinci Resolve conforms, VFX management and drop-ins, timeline maintenance, and color tracing. They will execute revisions on tight deadlines, implement QC fixes, and generate confidence check QuickTimes for client review. They will ensure accuracy and consistency with limited input from the creative editorial team. They will support the Finishing Colorist and collaborate across editorial, VFX, color, and sound departments. They will validate and prepare incoming media, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain accurate versioning and project integrity throughout the finishing process. Other duties include: Online a high volume of high-end episodic series and feature film projects. Ensure all final deliverables meet required technical specifications for broadcast, streaming, or theatrical distribution, and coordinate VFX shot tracking and turnovers. Communicate project status clearly identifying risks, blockers, and solutions. Participate in client-attended sessions (including QC and VFX reviews), providing professional, solutions-oriented support. Utilize tools such as Adobe After Effects and Blackmagic Fusion for basic compositing, motion graphics, retouching, and clean-up. Provide recommendations to improve workflow efficiency and pipeline processes. Demonstrate strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment. Maintain a positive, collaborative attitude across teams. Perform other related duties as required. WHAT YOU BRING: The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in post-production as a Finishing (Conform) Editor, with strong knowledge of dailies workflows and high-end finishing pipelines. They will have advanced proficiency with industry-standard tools, such as DaVinci Resolve (primary), Avid Media Composer, and Adobe Premiere Pro. They will bring strong technical expertise, including troubleshooting systems, media, and workflows, with thorough knowledge of codecs, file formats, HDR workflows, and color science. They will have excellent attention to detail and a strong eye for image quality, with a foundational understanding of color correction. The ideal candidate will also bring the following: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working directly with clients and collaborating across departments. Client communications in person, over phone and via email. Ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent projects, and remain adaptable, reliable, and composed under pressure. Experience managing media, including organization, archiving, and coordination with Data I/O or similar teams. Familiarity with MacOS, Linux and Windows operating systems. Nice to Have: Experience with titling, credits design, motion graphics, and basic VFX. Familiarity with review and collaboration platforms such as Frame.io, PIX, Vimeo, and Flow Capture. Strong leadership skills or experience guiding client sessions or mentoring junior team members. Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to learn and grow within the role. Working knowledge of Final Cut Pro and Autodesk Flame.
