Description

At Merit Kitchens, the Finisher will be responsible for ensuring that all parts are sprayed to a consistently high quality in a fast-paced manufacturing atmosphere. Responsibilities will include the identification and discarding of defective products, performing all work in a safe manner, cleaning and maintaining painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air, and personal protective equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a finishing painter, preferably in cabinet or furniture manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of various painting techniques and materials.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification is a plus.
  • On-time and reliable
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, etc. for 8 hours a day.
  • Effective English reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
  • Time management, prioritization skills, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Select appropriate paint or mix paints using paint mixing equipment according to a pre-determined formula.
  • Operate hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat large items with protective or decorative coatings.
  • Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air, and personal protective equipment.
  • Mark, record, and report defects.
  • Clean and perform preparation of worksite.
  • Signal equipment and line operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
  • Operate, read, and maintain air monitoring and other sampling devices when working in confined spaces and/or hazardous environments.
  • Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
