Description Works closely with the Finishing Manager to oversee 3rd-shift operations, coordinate daily production activities, and provide leadership to the Finishing team. This role supports safety, quality, productivity, and employee development. Supervisory Responsibilities Interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department Oversees the daily workflow of the department Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy Essential Duties and Responsibilities Works with the Finishing Manager on overseeing the Finishing department on third shift Coordinates daily shift production and overtime schedules optimizing staffing levels and equipment availability Assists operators with troubleshooting machine problems Assist the Finishing Manager in maintaining and promoting a high team spirit culture Maintain productive working relationships whilst helping to resolve employee grievances Provide constructive feedback to employees while assisting the Finishing Manager in identifying training and development opportunities as well as performance management issues Support the Finishing Manager in evaluating and hiring new employees including reviewing applications and interviewing candidates Performs other duties as assigned Requirements Strong bindery background, including 10-15 years' of operator experience preferred Ability to lead, train, and navigate complex employee relations matters as needed Competent in safety and quality practices Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality Effective communications skills with all levels within the organization
