SUMMARY:

The Finishing Technician is responsible to ensure product quality is correct, ensure that all equipment in area is in proper working condition and report any abnormalities to Operators or Manager. The Finishing Technician is also responsible for the maintenance of prescribed quantity and quality of product produced. Other responsibilities include troubleshooting machine basic performance, making adjustments and calling for additional resources as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proof of High School diploma, G.E.D. certificate
  • Experience in operating different automated machines and equipment (i.e. saws, automated paint equipment, strapping and wrapping equipment)
  • Forklift experience would be considered an asset

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work safely
  • Ability to work alone, self-motivated but also must be a team player
  • Lift truck license an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to use a measuring tape
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed. Energetic, forward-thinking and creative with high ethical standards
  • Keen attention to detail

Responsibilities:

  • Check quality of final product
  • Tie pieces together in packs and pile into units according to specifications
  • Strap units together and put into storage with lift truck
  • Ensure SKU machines are set up correctly
  • Maintain lift truck in proper working condition
  • Assist operators in maintenance and cleanup
  • Keep work area clean
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested
