Join the Wing Architecture and Integration team, where we are at the forefront of Airbus wing concept design. Our work spans the full spectrum of Airbus commercial wing designs, from supporting current solutions to developing improvements through process digitalization. This is an important part of shaping the future of environmentally sustainable aircraft.

The Airbus Engineering Structures Wing organization is a transnational team with sites in the UK, France, and Germany. This position is primarily based in Filton, UK, where a community of over 400 engineers collaborates on the design and manufacture of wings for all Airbus commercial aircraft.
Our work covers all major aircraft programs—A220, Single Aisle, Long Range, A350, A380, and A400m—and we are also actively engaged in research and development for new aircraft configurations to enable more efficient and environmentally sustainable aviation.

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only . Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

During your internship, you’ll be integrated into two key teams: Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Wing Digitalization. This unique structure offers a wide variety of experiences across multiple projects and stages of the project lifecycle, covering the full range of Airbus commercial products.
As a member of the wing FEA team, you will be responsible for delivering key analysis results for various aircraft programs. You will take ownership of your deliverables from initial task definition to final delivery. This includes using pre/post-processing tools like Altair Hyperworks and developing your coding skills through automation activities.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and build a strong network across Analysis, Program, Chief Engineering, and Airworthiness teams.

    SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
