MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years in FinOps, cloud finance, or cloud operations (Azure/AWS/GCP).
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) or cloud cost certifications preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud pricing models (On-Demand/Reserved/Spot) and billing.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and basic SQL for data analysis.
  • Strong communication skills to bridge technical and financial stakeholders.
  • Experience managing cross-team cost optimization initiatives.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with multi-cloud tools (e.g., Cloudability, Kubecost) and Scripting skills (Python/Shell) for cost automation.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze cloud spending (Azure/AWS/GCP) to identify waste and propose optimizations.
  • Implement resource scheduling (e.g., auto-shutdown non-prod instances).
  • Establish FinOps practices, aligning finance, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Generate cost reports using Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer, or CloudHealth.
  • Assist in annual cloud budgeting and forecast future spend based on trends.
  • Set up cost anomaly alerts and mitigate overspending risks.
  • Collaborate with architects to design cost-efficient solutions (e.g., Spot Instances, RIs).
  • Standardize tagging for accurate cost allocation (Chargeback/Showback).
  • Train engineering teams on cost-aware design (e.g., VM sizing, storage tiers).
  • Evaluate cloud vendor discount programs (Azure EA, AWS Savings Plans).
