FIRE ALARM ENGINEER (SERVICING, MAINTENANCE & INSTALLATION)

Location: Field-based, various sites across London
Salary: £42,000 – £50,000 (dependent on skills and experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

ABOUT YOU

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience working with fire alarm systems
  • Understanding of BS5839 (Parts 1 and 6)
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems (conventional, addressable, and wireless/radio)
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Service and maintain a range of fire safety systems
  • Carry out fault-finding, reactive repairs, and installations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards (e.g. BS5839)
  • Maintain accurate service records and reports
  • Proactively identify risks, defects, and opportunities to improve performance
  • Collaborate with office-based teams to deliver excellent customer service
  • Prioritise health and safety on all worksites

You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair, and installation of active fire protection systems across residential buildings, including:

  • Fire alarm systems (domestic and communal)
  • Automatic Opening Vent (AOV) systems
  • Emergency lighting system
