Description

The Fire Alarm & Fire Fighting Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of fire alarm and fire fighting systems, ensuring all projects are compliant with local and international safety codes and standards. This role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with a focus on delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient fire protection solutions for various projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.

  • System Design & Planning:
  • Design and develop fire alarm systems (e.g., addressable, conventional) and fire fighting systems (e.g., sprinkler, standpipe, foam, and suppression systems) based on project requirements.
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications using design software like AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Project Execution & Management:
  • Coordinate with architects, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate fire protection systems into overall building designs.
  • Supervise and monitor on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of fire alarm and fire fighting systems.
  • Ensure all work is executed according to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Prepare and submit project reports, documentation, and compliance certificates.
  • Compliance & Standards:
  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant local and international fire safety codes and regulations (e.g., NFPA, local civil defense codes).
  • Conduct inspections and audits to verify that installations meet safety requirements and project specifications.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies, standards, and regulatory changes in the fire protection industry.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in MEP or fire fighting projects, with a strong focus on fire protection systems.
  • Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of fire alarm and fire fighting systems design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA codes, building codes).
  • Ability to perform hydraulic calculations for fire fighting systems.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and clients.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
