Description Firetron is seeking highly skilled and licensed Fire Alarm Technicians in the College Station area. The ideal candidate will hold a TDI State of Texas Fire Alarm Technician License (FAL) or Fire Alarm Planning Superintendent License (APS) and bring extensive experience in fire alarm system installation, troubleshooting, programming, and maintenance. As a senior technician, you will lead projects, ensure code compliance, train junior staff, and maintain high standards of customer service and safety. Key Responsibilities: Technical Expertise: Install, program, and test fire alarm systems (addressable and conventional) in commercial, institutional, and industrial environments. Troubleshoot and repair faulty systems, wiring, or components. Program panels from manufacturers such as Notifier, Silent Knight, Gamewell, EST, Fire-Lite, Siemens, and Honeywell. Conduct inspections and service work in compliance with NFPA 72, TDI Fire Alarm Rules, and local AHJ requirements. Leadership: Serve as the on-site lead for installation and service projects. Mentor, train, and support junior technicians and apprentices. Ensure all work meets quality standards and is completed on time. Interface with general contractors, subcontractors, and clients during installations and inspections. Able to identify project Constraints and Delays Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all work complies with Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) Fire Alarm Licensing Law and company policies. Complete and submit inspection reports, service tickets, and system documentation accurately. Maintain system drawings and as-builts and ensure proper labeling. Client Interaction: Explain system functionality and operations to end users. Provide on-call support for emergency service issues (as scheduled). Address client concerns professionally and provide solutions in real-time. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or associate degree preferred). Valid Texas Fire Alarm Technician (FAL) License issued by TDI (APS preferred but not required). 5+ years of experience in fire alarm systems with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity. Strong working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, IBC/IFC, and TDI regulations. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and system schematics. Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record. Ability to pass background check and drug screening. Preferred Qualifications NICET Certification (Level II or higher) in Fire Alarm Systems. Experience with integrated life safety systems and low voltage applications (e.g., access control, smoke control, suppression).
