Job Title: Fire and Security Installer
Location: Based from our office in Ringwood, Hampshire.
The majority of work is carried out across Dorset and Hampshire, with occasional projects further afield in the UK and Europe.
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience + benefits (including private medical care)
Reports to: Managing Director
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00
Occasional out-of-hours work and European travel required

PERSON SPECIFICATIONESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in fire and security system installation, including commissioning.
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Fire systems: Kentec, Advanced, C-TEC, Apollo, Hyfire
  • CCTV systems: Hikvision and Avigilon
  • Intruder alarms: Orisec, Texecom, Galaxy (to SSAIB standards)
  • Access control systems: Kentec, PAC
  • Proficient in routing cabling, fitting equipment, configuring panels, and performing full system tests.
  • Familiar with BS 5839 and BS EN 50131 installation standards.
  • Full UK driving licence and valid passport.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

To install, commission, and hand over fire, security, and smart home systems to a high professional standard. This includes systems such as fire alarms, intruder alarms (SSAIB), CCTV, access control, Control4 home automation, structured cabling, and distributed networking. Work will include residential, commercial, and occasional high-end European installations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install and commission fire alarm systems in line with BS 5839 standards.
  • Install and commission intruder alarms in line with SSAIB regulations.
  • Install CCTV and access control systems to project specifications.
  • Support Control4 smart home and AV system installations (training provided).
  • Carry out structured cabling and distributed Wi-Fi/network installations.
  • Produce accurate documentation for handovers, including as-fitted drawings and commissioning reports.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service and site professionalism.
  • Travel across the UK and occasionally to Europe; overnight stays may be required.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, health and safety, and industry regulations.
